Heya... A lot of people get this, and mostly its because they dont stretch the legs properly, having flexible strong muscles around the tibia really help Also make sure you have good shoes on... heres a good link to a site about splints..advise you check it out cold baths are a bit...evil, so just applying ice in a towel to your shins is a good idea... www.foot.com/info/cond_shin_splints.jsphope this helps... peace Jingshen

Before i lost all my excess weight i had a serious problem but now they dont bother me. I could only run on a treadmill for about 20mins before they kicked in. So happy i have sorted that out.

I was always taught that in order to combat a stitch, breathe deep in through your nose and then out through your mouth, or was it the other way round...?

Stitch is...i hope im getting this right haha...a build of lactic acid that is put in the liver...lactic acid = product of anaerobic respiration or exercise without enough oxygen.. Comes from doing short bursts of intense exercise or not breathign properly.. Also..lactic acid is broken down again in the liver by oxygen..so breathing deeply really does help and is important.. ....
