Anyways.. lol.. any 1 got any tips on how to stay up longer when doing an handstand and to stay in the same spot, cause i always end up going backwards lol I've been learning how to handstands by just doing them twice a week for about 5 mins, now I can hold them for about 10 seconds from a run up, then landing on a 5ft wall and pushing my self into a handstand, I usually go backwards but now I have the balance to move my hands and adjust, its just practace mate and it will come, when it does, go "yay" then go practace some more. ::edit:: I keep my legs "slightly" bent, more strait then bent thou.

i think you need to build up the mucles for the handstand (arms, back, abs)

I think it might just be the form. Do I start with a lunge sorta thing or just flip straight into it...

lunge...flip?....its all about control..use your leg to get you up, you just need o have enough power to get you upright... i remember when i was learning i used to use way too much and send myself straight over the top... lol...

lol same!...we r talking about handstands yeh?...its all about controll and patients...It takes a long time to get balenced wen ur learning you just hav to keep trying. Once ur up there and u feel balenced grip with ur fingers!
If ur flexible u mite find this harder...u hav to keep ur back as straight as possible or else you will go over...

Sounds funny but handstands are one of my favourite things, the opening of Evo with the rail handstand probably gets me as motivated as anythingelse. Obviously i love all the rest but control is my favourite thing like rail to rail precisions. Actually thinking about that i don't see many in your vids. Do you not do many or did you just leave them out?

me too!! and what with my injuries these past few weeks its all ive been able to do the best feeling is when you know that your work has paid off and you can feel the difference in your body or technique, and in a handstand its easy to feel that you get out what you put in

I agree with Chase about the practice.....like practice all the time is 100% going to end with success.....i practice everywhere in my apartment and it's funny cuz i end on the couch, on my bed, on my chair, on my sister(a little nuts*y situation though ;D). But it's fun i try as hard as possible, so soon i'm sure there will be some results.
