if youre sure youre comfortable with wall flips in the gym, not being able to do them on grass is purely mental. i still look at walls and think 'man if only that wasnt a fat loada concrete at the bottom' even though i know i can wall flip everytime. If youre worried about what might happen if you bail, just remember - if youre comfortabe with them in the gym, that means youre fine with the rotation, so unless you bail out just as youre leaning back, youre not going to hurt yourself. anyway, as soon as youre leaning back and your foot has left the wall, youve basically completed the move. just remeber when youre doing it, imagine youre long jumping up the wall for extra height, and lean right back and you'll be fine.
as for backflips the only advice you really need is jump up and tuck at your peak. if you can wall flip, you should be used to the rotation so backflips shouldnt be amazingly challenging. however you will make it alot harder for yourself if you jump backwards as you will end up going into a back hadsring or worse just landing flat on your stomach! my advice would be jes to try it on something soft, the risk of severely injuring yourself is very small. go for it! ;D

YAY! I conquered my fear of wall flips over concrete! Huzzah! I think a resounding cheer is in order <Head inflates to thrice the normal size>. I also earned 5p in doing it. Its not much, but its a start. All i can say is go for the wall flip, make it yours.

Nice one m8 really, you have to take into account the extra weight of your head next time you do it though . Na but seriously nice work, my fear of going backwards is my next one to conquer. Need people strong enough to spot me lol.

Ideally you should have two spotters one on either side. There are two main techniques i have seen used the first is where they place one hand under your knee and one just below the middle of your back, that way they support you all the way over and can flip you if your gona land on your head.
The second i have seen is when they place on hand under your knee and the other across and on your torso. This one is more to flip you over and i think they have less control but its a matter of opinion.
All you need is one or two people to ensure you don't get injured when attempting it. The technique is up to you, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Can anybody explain to me what is needed to bridge the gap between a one and a 2-step wall flip and so on?
I can do a pretty high/smooth one-step, but I want more, I want 2 and 3 steps, I assume after you get past one step, it's easy to add the others. Help?
Thanks.

make sure you still kick off with the same leg... i imagine i am doing a one step and run at the wall place one step on and as soon as the second step hits i tuck and push as normal...dont break the momentum... i think the technique needed for a two step is the same as a one step, keep it smooth....for a three step it changes slightly as you are so high. Remember to push off hard from the wall on the second step as you are more vertical from the second step so need to get further away from the wall... ...somewhere above in this post i think maybe chase gave some advice on two steps... To dragontruong .. chaselee2002.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=wushu&action=display&thread=1105678541

Me and my friend are trying to learn Parkour. We only found out it existed a few days ago. It seemed really cool to us right away. At first i didn't belive it was possible to do these kinds of tricks. But now it seems really sweet. I just wanted to know what would be the easiest trick(or stunt) that i could start with. And what tric u learnd first !? ;D ;D Tnx a lot by the way.
