Hiya mate, This reminds me of somthing my good friend nat was saying yesterday,... Think, if you just go for it on grass, and say the first time you do land on your ass, you will find out it doesent hurt, and it will make you say to yourself, well this doesnt hurt so i might aswell just goo all out on it, give it everything, and land it,...once your fear of getting hurt on it goes, you will be able to free your mind of that fear and do the move, techneque is everything, and get that strength and height you need and you got it bro,...watch some clips of how people do the move, then studdy what needs to be done, the go out and try it m8... Best of luck chase

i had this problem... my friend used to CRAZILY say that in the event it did hurt a bit, at least he knew it couldnt get any worse =) lol...so we try things and find they are not as bad as our minds would make us think..lol.. as long as you dont power yourself into the floor it wont hurt...just remember give it everything you've got and you WILL make it!! half heart and you WILL fall!! practise practise practise is the only way to get it... no need to fear this one..empty your mind and give it your all be confident because you CAN do it lolol "to succeed we must sweat both blood and tears" jingshen

as with any flip its all about commitment, if you bail out at any point, your can expect a very bruised arse. if you give it everything, you substatially lower the risk of slamming and you much much more likely to land it. just be aware that if you try TOO hard you could end up hurting yourself, partly because youll be tense and angry! ive seen this happen a few times, people so desperate to land something that they hurt themselves in trying too hard! relax, give it plenty of oomf and go for it!

hi, my front flips arnt perfect, but i fell on my bum loads of times when i was learning them and i found that as long as your feet hit the ground first it doesnt hurt much. What i thought did hurt after youve done a few is landing crouched. it really hurts youre Kness and legs after a while

nah back sumi's are so much easier imo. i can do standing back tucks, etc just like that but go through hell for standing websters. (front sumi with one foot take off. using jack front technique if its me)

backs are physically alot easier then fronts, but they are mentally harder to conquer.

i agree with the ' mentally' thing its much harder to go over backwards than to go over fowards! it feels more natural to go fowards i think lol.
hv u tried in a sand pit, like a skools jumping sand pit for high jump and athletic stuff there easier to land in and less painful if u fall.
as long as u jump up thn do the technique u'l make it over in some sort of way lol where it wont hurt much, i always used to just go into the trick straight away always landed on my arse, its suprising how much easier it is if u just jump thn do the technique. but lol guess thts obvious but wasnt to me...ow
